How To Stop Drinking Coffee

Posted by: Happy Safe Baby  /  Category: Baby Health

How can you stop drinking coffee and other caffeinated drinks? The following tips describe two herbs that not only taste delicious, but give you a similar energy boost as well.

Plus, they make you more healthy.

To kick the caffeine habit, replace your coffee or other caffeinated drink with peppermint or spearmint iced tea. You can have them fresh, everyday, since they can be easily grown in a small pot for plants.

Here are more ways that peppermint and spearmint help you to be more healthy and live better.

Peppermint

* Peppermint leaves are helpful for digestive upsets, pick a few leaves and steep in boiling water.

* If you’re trying to kick the caffeine in the morning this is a healthy alternative. Peppermint is a slight stimulate to get you going in the morning.

* Drink after meals to promote good digestion.

* Left over herbal teas can be stored in the fridge with lemon slices and stevia extract and drank as a natural iced tea! Stevia is a herb that is 70% sweeter than sugar, has no calories, no carbohydrates and won’t affect your blood sugars.

* Soak you tired hot feet in an infusion of peppermint tea, it cools them down and stimulates circulation. I use a Refreshing Mint Spray for this purpose all summer long. It’s a quick way to spray on the feet for the same cooling result.

Spearmint

* Used similar to peppermint, but is milder and has a gentle diaphoretic effect for children. Some prefer the taste.

* Useful for stomach problems and vomiting, very handy to have growing in a pot outside your door.

* Helpful for the vomiting with morning sickness.

* Mice detest spearmint, so plant it to keep them away from food sources and other plants.

How Do You Use Essential Oils?

Posted by: Happy Safe Baby  /  Category: Baby Health

Like a lot of people, I also thought that essential oils were only for your bath.

Yet, after using chemical cleaners for literally decades, I was surprised to find out that most essential oils will do a whole bunch more, including disinfect most surface areas.

When you consider all of the new strains of flus and colds that seem to pop up on a regular basis, this is good news for you and your loved ones health.

What’s more, they’re a cinch to use. Simply by placing a few drops in hot water, they will kill airborne bacteria.

You can also boost your immune system using essential oils instead of harming it with harsh chemicals.

Here Are A “Few” Ideas To Get You Started…

1. By simmering 2 to 8 drops of peppermint and lavender you will kill cold virus & help the infected person breathe easier.

2. Put 4 drops of lavender, 2 drops of lemon, 2 drops of rosemary or 3 drops of eucalyptus into 1 quart of water. Pour this mixture into a spray bottle. Then, shake well in a spray bottle and use on kitchen counters, cutting boards, sinks, floors.

3. With the mixture of essential oils above, you can sprinkle 1 to 2 drops on a cloth & place in dryer for a fresh, natural scent and eliminate irritating softener sheets.

4. Research shows that eucalyptus oil kills dust mites. Simply add 25 drops in your washing machine rinse cycle.

5. Drop 2 to 5 of lavender in your hand soap for an antibacterial wash. Mix lavender with Aloe Vera for an instant relief of burns

6. Use a few drops of lavender on a damp cloth to wipe down bathroom & water spots.

7. Place 2 to 5 drops of lavender or chamomile on your pillow to help you relax.

8. To discourage mice you can use diluted peppermint spray.

9. Apply tea tree on a cut or sting to disinfect it with out the hurting sting.

10. For stressful days, place 2 to 10 drops of geranium in a bowl of hot water.

11. Mix 2 to 4 drops of eucalyptus with 4 Tablespoons of Jojoba oil and rub on bottom of feet to help lessen a cold’s symptoms.

How To Use BooBoo Bear & Friends

Posted by: Happy Safe Baby  /  Category: Baby Health

What is a BooBoo Bear? The Boo Boo Bear™ is a handcrafted warm/cool herbal pack which provides cuddly comfort for tummy, ear, muscle aches and for many types of common “booboos” that happen as babies and young children grow up.

Without chemicals and stinging treatments, it provides a completely natural way for you and your child to sooth the pain and trauma of those accidental bumps and bruises.

Are they easy to use? Absolutely!  You just heat them in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes in order to provide a warm and soothing friend for your child to hold themselves. For the future, it can be kept on the shelf or as a friend in your child’s room. Or, for a quick cool pack, in the refrigerator for scrapes, sprains, or any other boo boos your child may encounter.

So, how do you use them? Take a look below to see…

1. Encourages Children To Be Involved And Connected With Their Healing

Children feel scared when they are hurt and in pain often because they don’t know why it hurts or how to stop the pain. By giving them a BooBoo Bear, they have a tool to use for themselves to help stop the pain and heal their “booboo”.

2. Contains Soothing Relaxing Herbs (Aromatherapy)

Aromatherapy herbs are the key to how BooBoo Bear and his friends help sooth and heal. The scents of chamomile, lavender, and peppermint have their own unique natural properties that work with the body to nurture the healing process. In essence, lavender is restorative and relaxing, chamomile has a gentle sedative effect, and peppermint stabilizes that is useful for muscle pain and stiffness.

3. Warm/ Cool Therapy

BooBoo Bear works to sooth and calm quickly whether it is warmed up or cooled down. By placing your BooBoo Bear, or for example, his friend Meowies for Owies in the microwave for only 1 or 2 minutes you can use it’s warm herbal scent to sooth ear aches, tummy aches, or muscle aches.

Or, for cool therapy just place it in the refrigerator and later, when you need to sooth an aching sprain, for instance, and put your BooBoo Bear or one of his friends gently on it.

4. Color Therapy

Most restaurants learned years ago that red stimulates an appetite, while blue tends to make people feel calm. BooBoo Bears have taken color therapy a step further by using soft, soothing, cheerful colors on all their products. Soft blue, pink, beige, cream, violet, and similar shades of various colors are all designed to bring out positive, comforting feelings for everyone that uses BooBoo Bear or any of his friends.

5. All natural filling straight from Mother Earth

It is nice to know that when your child puts their BooBoo Bear on their aching tummy, only natural, harmless herbs are at work to help comfort and heal. They can hold their bear for hours if they like, letting the herbal filling continue to work.

Special Note

It is good to know that Boo Boo Bear Herbs for Hurts products, are Class 1 medical devices which meet all Health Canada Regulations.

BooBoo Bear, Meowies for Owies or any if his other friends make a unique baby gift that helps to give the child more self confidence and a gentle friend with a purpose.
